Kipchoge Warms Up for Bangkok Marathon With Buakaw in High-Energy Park Session
BANGKOK, Nov. 29, 2025:Kenya’s Eliud Kipchoge, the marathon great, world-record holder and double Olympic champion, ran a light training session in Bangkok on Saturday ahead of his appearance in the eighth edition of the World Capital Marathon Series at the “Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok 2025 Presented by Toyota”
Kipchoge was joined by Thai kickboxing icon Buakaw Banchamek, who added star power to the relaxed morning workout at Lumpini Park. The pair warmed up together before running two easy laps around the park- a total distance of 5.2 km, accompanied by their support teams. Thai running fans lined the route, waving and greeting Kipchoge as he passed.
In a light-hearted moment, Buakaw and Kipchoge exchanged friendly banter, with Buakaw lifting his shirt to show off his abdominal muscles in a playful comparison that drew cheers and smiles from onlookers.
The “Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok 2025”, part of the World Capital Marathon Series, will be held on Nov. 30 from 02:00 to 10:30. The race starts at MBK Center on Phaya Thai Road in Pathumwan district and finishes at Sanam Luang on Ratchadamnoen Avenue in Phra Nakhon district.
Organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the event is jointly hosted by the Sports Authority of Thailand, the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, World Athletics and Thailand Tri-League. The organizers aim to position the race among the top 10 officially recognized capital-city marathons worldwide.
